ConnXus is one of two Cincinnati-area companies getting the STAR treatment. We’ve attracted the attention of the emerging STAR Angel Network, a startup investment network made up of professional athletes and celebrities looking to invest in promising early stage companies.
ConnXus, along with Cincinnati’s Lisnr, a audio-based app, are among the first companies in which the STAR Angel Network has invested.
The STAR Angel Network has 65 accredited investors, and is an offshoot of the STAR Executive MBA Program, “an education program for professional athletes and celebrities, run in conjunction with George Washington University,” according to Alley Watch article. Two thirds of those investors are active or retired pro athletes or celebrities.
“We make investments in companies in which our members can help leverage the return on invested capital through our network’s powerful social media reach and fan base influence,” the Star Network website explains.
The site goes on to say that each member typically invests $25-$50K on a single company, with plans to invest $500K in an average investment round.
Star Network is still looking for funding opportunities, and entrepreneurs can apply for funding through the Star Network website. ConnXus is excited to being part of the Star Network portfolio. We continue to look forward to continued growth in creating opportunities for our diverse supplier network!
